Key Findings – Project selection

  • The quality of the script and the concept are the most important factors when deciding which projects to work on.
  • The strength of the cast matters less than the script, the concept, the talent of the director and the reputation of the producer.
  • The two least important factors were both based around data; namely performance of similar films and trends within the industry.

  1. There doesn’t appear to be a column for “it pays well”, which certainly comes into it. Lawrence Olivier in “Inchon” and George Clooney in “Batman and Robin” being cases in point.

  2. Aaaah, that special brand of Hollywood honesty.

“I really only care about great concepts and scripts!” they claim, hand-on-heart.

That’s why every movie Hollywood makes is a reimagining of a remake of a reboot of a prequel to a sequel of an earlier movie with a clichéd story and wretched script that has already been made 100 times before.

  3. You did a great job!

It was really interesting for us to learn the results of a survey on a topical matter. You have questioned so many people, so there’s no doubt about the accuracy of the results. The data the graphs show really brings hope because it represents the best expectations.

Unfortunately, the impression is that recently there are no truly good movie ideas brought to the big screen. That gave us an impulse to create our project:
